——————————————-

The Artist Lionel Cohen is constantly on the lookout for perfecting his art, his painting, his themes.

Regarding the Hebrew theme:

In the Jewish tradition, the month we have just passed is a month full of emotion: Passover, the exit from Egypt.

This theme inspired the painter, as you can see from the painting, Crossing the Red Sea.

Small retrospective on some works by artist lionel Cohen.

We just spent the month of Nissan. We are on a Hebrew date in the month of Iyar. More precisely on 10 Iyar, either April 22, 2021, or the 26th day of the Omer.

April was a month in which we worship Yom Hashoa.

The artist Lionel Cohen painted and collage this most painful period for the Jewish people, without forgetting the opponents, the homosexuals, the disabled, in fact all those who did not correspond to the Third Reich.

The look of this old man is like a butterfly, Ephemeral hence the name of this painting.

Note that some butterflies do not live longer than 24 hours, like the Jews who arrived in the extermination camps.

This table is very interpretative. Each of us can see what we feel there. The passing of time, the sweetness and tranquility of butterflies or the pain in the eyes of this man, who seems to be of old age. But is he?

In many of the artist's works, our imagination and our experience, our sensitivity can be combined with what Lionel Cohen offers us.

His work becomes part of our history.

In April, there was also Yom Hazikarone. It is the Israeli national day which honors fallen soldiers and civilians lost in the attacks.

Here is a vision of the artist Lionel Cohen, he painted this painting which is called: Yom Hazikarone.

After there is Yom Hatsmaout, the day of independence from the State of Israel.

This painting is part of the painter's firsts. His name is Yom Hatsmaout.

This painting shows the evolution of Lionel Cohen in his graphics, his technique.

During his daughter's Bat Mitzvat. He had done the decoration of the reception hall.

Decorator Lionel Cohen has transformed a school canteen into a reception hall.
